Connie M. Love,  Owner & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Connie Love serves as CEO of John Henry Oil. She was born and raised in South Central Kentucky and grew up in the Appalachian oilfields observing the work of her father, John Henry  Love, Jr.  Connie studied economics at Tulane University and liberal arts at Smith College. Connie directs all corporate and financial aspects of JHO, but her passion is “the rocks” and she is typically in the field and heavily involved in operations.  With more than 30 years of direct field, operations and oil and gas management experience, Connie learned the business “from the mud up”.  Connie and her team intend to utilize their localized field knowledge and key area relationships to significantly enhance the Company’s success and build value.


Sarah Patterson Goedert, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Sarah Goedert has been with John Henry Oil for almost 4 years and previously held the position of Director of Investor Relations.  Sarah oversees all day-to-day company business operations and works directly with the CEO on the corporation's accounting, financial and operational reports.  She also performs marketing and human resources functions.  Sarah graduated cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Alabama, where she received a full academic scholarship and held multiple leadership positions.  She attained her M.B.A. from Brenau University and has completed graduate level coursework in finance, investments, and accounting.


 

Josh C. Hickman, PG (Petroleum Geologist)

Josh Hickman is a registered Professional Geologist in the state of Pennsylvania with extensive experience in exploration and development geology in the Appalachian Basin.  Formally, Josh was employed by CONSOL Energy, Cabot Oil and Gas, and EdgeMarc Energy Holdings.  He has an M.B.A . from Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in GeoScience from the University of South Carolina, and a B.S. in Geology with a minor in Physics and a specialty in Engineering Geology from Radford University.  Mr. Hickman is the founder of Hickman Geological Consultants and YPE Pittsburgh.


Marvin R. Jessie, Director of Field Operations

Marvin serves as Director of Field Operations for John Henry Oil. He has been involved in day to day field operations with the Love family since 1982. While he has extensive field experience, more importantly, he is a person who does what it takes to get the job done. He not only excels at operations management, he has a knack for developing and maintaining good working relations with the landowners and the folks in the rural communities where drilling operations often take place.


Nathan Bartell, Field Geologist

Nathan Bartell was  recently named the field geologist for John Henry Oil.  In May 2015 he graduated with a B.S. in Geology from Denison University.  Nathan was a four year student athlete and started as Center on the "Big Red" football team.  He joins us after gaining experience as a lab technician at Buckeye Brine in Coshocton, Ohio.


Don R. Miller, PG (Consulting Petroleum Geologist)

Don Miller has 50+ years in the oil and gas industry beginning as an exploration and development geologist with Humble Oil & Refining (Exxon Mobile) in 1964 and continuing to the present.  During the time span he has served as Chairman, CEO, & Founder of several O&G companies such as Geo, Inc., Sequoyah Petroleum Company, Paragon Exploration, Matrix Geoscience, and Don R. Miller, Consulting Geologist.  Except for early Gulf Coast experience the majority of his experience is in the Central and Southern portions of the Appalachian Basin (Thrust Belt & Plateau). Mr. Miller holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from West Virginia University and four years of Doctoral studies (PhD Candidate status) at the University of Tennessee.  He is a Registered Geologist in TN, KY, NC, GA.


Hannah Orem, Marketing Assistant

Hannah Orem has extensive experience in writing, as well as minor experience in marketing, public relations and graphic design. Hannah performs marketing functions, including creating and updating marketing materials, overseeing the creation of promotional products and assisting with presentations. She also assists the CFO and performs daily administrative duties. She is looking forward to learning more about the industry. Hannah graduated from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, and minor in English-Literature.
